| | Twista - This is why I'm cold. Seriously, it's horrible. Youtube it. | ] | Everyone really needs to cool it on the whole "making fun of 'This is why I'm hot' because it's a simple, pointless song" thing. First of all, why is everyone taking this song so seriously? I don't see people going ape-shit over Avril Levine's new lame tunes, even though their target audiences are (mostly) the same. (ether middle schoolers or those 25 year old weirdos who go to New York just to see TRL)
The most annoying thing about this whole mess is the fact that there is an entire Facebook (oh snap!) group filled to the brim with smug turds (and a few of my smug turd friends) that apparently think that pop music is, and has always been, relevant and must be safeguarded from minimalist lyrics. As if we're all still reeling from the global backlash of "My Humps."
I mean come on, music has been simple and pointless for decades, The Beach Boys wrote almost exclusively about surfing, cars, and "California Girls" and really, just how introspective were songs like "Twist and shout" or "Whole Lotta Shakin' going on"? Actually, the parallels between Rock and Roll and Hip Hop go so deep it's not even funny, so to save time lets just say they've both have been hated on by pretentious college students hellbent on becoming the most pretentious college student.
SO PLEASE! JUST ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS AND LET IT BE. |

I found this drawing while I was reorganizing my room. [A major renovation, I had just obtained a new extra long super desk with enough space on it to fit my TV, computer, and printer, with a notable amount of room to spare.] I drew on the train between London and Paris, I had not been adjusting to the time difference very well, and I was in a state of desperate exhaustion. I needed a pick-me-up, hence the friendly little bugger you see here. Every time I look at the damn thing it cheers me up. |

| | Young Folks is stuck in my head. | ] | Well how about this great weather? I'm glad that it's above freezing and not raining, I can finally go skating without having to stuff a space heater in my jacket or light my gloves on fire to say warm. Plus the days are getting longer, so I don't feel like going to bed at five.
Speaking of going to bed at five, I saw Robo Cop last night and boy did it suck. In one scene the "bad guys" are looking for Robo Cop in a warehouse so he distracts them by throwing a tin can in the opposite direction only to then shout "looking for me?!" for no reason. Did I mention he was already hidden? If he was going to go for the "hey look at me I'm right here" approach, what was the point of the tin can? Ugh, at least I know what all the... hype is... about?
Did I mention I'm at work right now? Being a Lab Monitor is like being a guy that gets payed to read books and occasionally go on the internet, because it is.
Do you want to get rid of a coat rack? Or anything else for that matter? I need something. Maybe you have it!
I have a very involving assignment I still need to film for, and I'm a little wishy washy on the concept. Maybe I'll think of something while I "work". |

| | Joanna Newsom - Sadie | ] | Tomorrow I'm heading back to Gresham. I really liked spending time with everyone down here, I always do, and now I'm faced with the daunting task of packing up and shrugging my way back to an unforgiving, strip-mall invested no man's land. A pentacle of fear and profound disgust. I'd have to say the only thing more fun than living in Gresham is lighting yourself on fire. So here I go, the vacation is over, time to get back to business. No more free food. No more free electricity. No more doing what I want. Back to responsibility, order, and waking up at son-of-a-bitch-seven-O'clock. It's 2007 damn it. I need to get myself together. |

| | Ruby Tuesday - Rolling Stones | ] | "Hello, how are you? My name is Martin, I am an artist/photographer from London and found your profile by typing in the word "depressed" into the search engine. I am deeply fascinated by these subjects and am interested in those who have subjected these emotions and feelings electronically to the world over the internet where it once was an emotion very much hidden away. I am looking to take text and images from your profile or from a seperate submission addressing the issue of depression or suicide to build small personal profiles into a book which will be sold online at http://www.lulu.com. No amount is too much or too little. Of course all work published will be approved by your consent.
If you are interested please reply as soon as possible, prefferably within a week and if you have any questions or anything you would like to know about the project, please ask.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Martin"
So I told him tears fall so fast because they're molded by the air as they are falling making them about as streamlined as possible. How do I know this? I spend all my free time crying straight to the ground for unforgivably trivial reasons. |
